On the morning of April 16 (local time in Brazil), 2024, the inauguration ceremony of the Vangenes Biotech Brazil Laboratory and the China-Brazil Biopharmaceutical Industry Cooperation Exchange Conference were successfully held in São Paulo. Cui Yonghui, Member of the Standing Committee of the Fujian Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Xiamen Municipal Party Committee, attended the event and delivered a speech.
Secretary Cui Yonghui extended his congratulations on the establishment of the Vangenes Biotech Brazil Laboratory and affirmed Vangenes Biotech’s significant contributions to promoting open cooperation at the Xiamen BRICS Innovation Base and advancing win-win development of the China-Brazil biopharmaceutical industry. At the exchange meeting, Secretary Cui introduced the business environment of Xiamen to Brazilian enterprises, with a special emphasis on the rapid development and cooperation potential of Xiamen’s biopharmaceutical industry. He expressed his hope that, taking the opportunity of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Brazil, and leveraging the platform role of the Xiamen BRICS Innovation Base, practical cooperation in the China-Brazil biopharmaceutical industry would be further strengthened, making greater contributions to deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
Dr. Chen Hongliang, Chairman of Vangenes Biotech; Mr. Yuri Nunes Sociale, Director of Strategic Business Planning at the Genomics Center of Fleury Group (one of Brazil’s largest healthcare providers); Dr. Izabel Vanusa Silva, CEO of BioVida DNA Laboratory (Brazil); and Mr. José Ricardo, Co-Chairman and CEO, China Region, Brazilian Business Leaders Organization, each delivered remarks and engaged in a discussion on the future prospects for China-Brazil cooperation in the biopharmaceutical industry.
Following the exchange, Secretary Cui Yonghui; Mr. Chen Wenxian, Deputy President of ICBC Brazil; Mr. José Ricardo, Co-Chairman and CEO, China Region, Brazilian Business Leaders Organization; and Dr. Chen Hongliang, Chairman of Vangenes Biotech, jointly unveiled the Vangenes Biotech Brazil Laboratory. Guests from both China and Brazil also witnessed the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement between Vangenes Biotech and Brazil BioVida DNA Laboratory.
The event was hosted by Huang Feng, Executive Deputy Director of the BRICS Office of Xiamen Municipality, and was attended by nearly 30 distinguished guests, including members of the Xiamen Economic and Trade Delegation, representatives from MGI and Hikvision’s Brazil operations, and representatives from related technology service organizations in Brazil. Together, they witnessed this important milestone in Vangenes Biotech’s entry into the Brazilian market and looked forward to the broad prospects for China-Brazil cooperation and exchanges in the biopharmaceutical industry.
The establishment of the Vangenes Biotech Brazil branch and laboratory marks the first Xiamen-based private enterprise to “go global” under the support of the BRICS Innovation Base. As a partner institution of the Xiamen BRICS Office, the Brazilian Business Leaders Organization (China Region), together with its Co-Chairman and CEO, Mr. José Ricardo, has provided strong support and assistance for Vangenes Biotech’s expansion in Brazil.
Dr. Chen Hongliang, Chairman of Vangenes Biotech, stated that China’s cost-effective biopharmaceutical solutions will help improve the healthcare level of the Brazilian people.
